Babe Ruth

George Herman “Babe” Ruth, who lived from 1895 to 1948, is almost unanimously considered the greatest baseball player of all time.

Babe began his major league baseball career as a dominant pitcher, who compiled an excellent 94-46 record. However, in 1918, he was switched over to outfielder so he could bat every day and take advantage of his superb hitting skills.

Babe soon revolutionized the game by becoming the first dominant home run hitter. He broke the single season home run record in 1919, and then broke that record three more times. He retired with a record 714 career major league home runs. To this day, only two other players (Hank Aaron and Barry Bonds) have surpassed that mark.

Babe Ruth Quotes

You just can’t beat the person who never gives up.

The way a team plays as a whole determines its success. You may have the greatest bunch of individual stars in the world, but if they don’t play together, the club won’t be worth a dime.

What do I think about when I strike out? I think about hitting home runs.
