Mongolia

Mongolia borders Northern China. Most Mongolians have Mongoloid / Asiatic ancestry, which is the same ancestry prevalent in most other Asian regions. Many Mongolians originate from the region’s tribal people, as well as from Manchus (of Northern China), Huns, and Turks.

The Mongolians created a tremendous empire in the 1200s under the well-known leader Genghis (Chinggis) Khan. His successors continued the Empires dominance for several more generations, but in the 1400s the Mongols lost power, and in the 1600s Mongolia became part of China. In the 1900s, Mongolia became an independent country. Khalkha Mongol is the country’s main language.

Themes of Mongolia include storytelling, shatar (a game like chess), rituals, horses, wrestling, archery, literature, poetry, temperature variances, widely varied plant and animal life, animal herding, and mineral exporting.
